Psychoanalytic psychotherapy is a therapeutic method suitable for treatment of a wide spectrum of psychiatric disorders such as panic attacks. generlized anxiety disorder, agoraphobia. eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia), various types of personality disorders such as borderline.
As this psychotherapeutic method reaches depths of personality – the unconscious, phantasy, conflict/deficiency etc. it usually takes longer to complete it when compared with other psychotherapeutic methods that are available nowadays. It is aimed at solving the cause of psychological pain (issues). Thus, after successfully completed, psychological hardships do not manifest themselves any more.
It is very hard, actually impossible, to tell in words what psychoanalytic psychotherapy is to someone who has not been in this treatment. For this reason several videos from practical work of Aneta Sandić, PhD are available below.
Example of psychoanalytic psychotherapeutic work of dr Sandić

“DREAMS ARE THE ROYAL ROAD TO THE UNCONSCIOUS”
As noted in introductory video about psychoanalytic psychotherapy (on the homepage) a lot of attention is payed to RELATIONSHIP PATIENT-PSYCHOTHERAPIST as that is one of the central elements that bring about the change in psychological functioning of the patient..
We use term ‘transference’ for unconscious (and partially conscious) attitude of patient towards the therapist.
This video gives you a glimpse of a positive transference dream of patient with severe diagnosis – BODY DYSMORPHIA and how it can be dealt with to maintain and strengthen the positive transference.
Segment of a session – a DREAM and INTERPRETATION on the Freudian level together with some other ‘messages’ the dream was telling to the patient in psychotherapeutic treatment.
